The airport welcomed Frontier Airlines with two Florida destinations on Friday. Starting on Dec. 20, you can now fly from the Queen City to Tampa or Orlando.The first flight from Orlando landed this morning with about 90 passengers on board. The airline makes the trip to Orlando four times a week and makes the trip to Tampa three times a week. The airport’s Director of Aviation, Nic Longo, told NBC5 it’s exciting to offer people an easy way to get somewhere warm, especially this time of year. “The partnerships that we have with all of our airlines, and specifically, with Frontier, of getting folks to those warmer weather destinations, and bring them back home to Vermont and back, especially through the holiday season,” Longo said.
