The flag carrier of Poland has opened its first business lounge in North America. The new LOT Polish Airlines
business lounge at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago is open now. It is accessible to travelers flying on other Star Alliance carriers and walk-up visitors.
Connecting Chicago to Poland
The LOT Business Lounge is located in the central area of Terminal 5 of Chicago O’Hare International Airport
(ORD). It is open daily for passengers from 07:00 to 00:00 and is designed with a minimalist style, subtle colors like amber, and accents inspired by Poland. The space is located close to both TSA security and the gate leading to the aircraft and offers a panoramic view of the airport apron.

The space spans over 617 square meters and offers relaxation, work, and dining areas. Izabela Leszczyńska, Director of the Product Development and Customer Experience Office at LOT Polish Airlines, noted how exciting this moment is for the carrier:

Chicago is one of the most important destinations in LOT’s network. The Polish flag carrier has flown to the route for more than 50 years, and over 250,000 passengers flew between Chicago and Poland in 2023.

The Windy City is home to one of the largest Polish communities in the world, and the Chicago metropolitan area has long served as a cultural and business bridge between Poland and the United States. The new lounge will be open to other Star Alliance frequent flyers and seat up to 165 guests.

The airline is upgrading its Dreamliner fleet.
The lounge features a relaxation area with calming lighting, a dedicated work area thoughtfully separated from the rest of the space, and a spacious dining area with hot and cold meals. Guests can enjoy a taste of Polish cuisine alongside local specialties. A wide selection of exquisite dishes is available, including vegetarian and halal options tailored to the diverse culinary preferences of LOT’s passengers.
In addition, the lounge includes special windows with an automatic dimming function, WiFi, flight schedule screens, and charging stations for electronic devices. These features ensure that the time spent in the lounge is a comfortable and convenient stop during the journey. Commissioner Jamie L. Rhee of the Chicago Department of Aviation, which owns and operates O’Hare, noted how vital the link between the two cities is:
“As home to one of the world’s largest Polish populations, Chicago serves as a vital gateway for travelers connecting to Warsaw and Cracow. On behalf of Mayor Brandon Johnson, I thank LOT for choosing Chicago as the location for the airline’s first North American lounge.

The lounge will be available on a complimentary basis to the following travelers:
- LOT Business Class passengers.
- First and Business Class passengers of partner airlines within the Star Alliance.
- Passengers with Star Alliance Gold status.
- Passengers elite status at a Star Alliance partner airline.
- Business Class passengers of contracted airlines.
For all other passengers, entrance can be purchased online or at the door for the following rates:
- LOT Premium Economy passengers: $55,
- LOT Economy passengers: $60,
- “Walk-in” passengers (not part of the above groups): $70.
LOT Polish Airlines
In January, LOT Polish Airlines will fly to six destinations in North America, all with its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. Chicago is served from both Warsaw and Krakow
(KRK), while the remaining cities all have direct flights to the Polish capital: Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York (Newark and JFK), and Toronto (YYZ).
