SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) — The American Airlines ground stop disrupted travelers leaving the Springfield-Branson National Airport on Tuesday.

FlightAware says 26 flights within and out of the U.S. were canceled. The outage delayed a thousand flights during the grounding.

However, the disruption was minimal in Springfield.

“You could expect some delays,” said Springfield-Branson National Airport Director Brian Weiler. “What we tell passengers is, please, check with your airlines. They’re going to be your best source of information. Make sure you arrive at the airport early enough. We recommend two hours and pack your patience. There’s been, thankfully, no cancellations of our flights, but we’ll definitely continue to see some impacts throughout the day.”

You can also check the status of arrivals and departures on the airport’s website.
