Joramco outlines AI-driven paperless transformation

Joramco has outlined how artificial intelligence (AI) is supporting its transition to a fully paperless maintenance environment, as part of a broader digital transformation strategy presented today at the inaugural PAM MENA conference in Dubai.

Speaking during the session, Shakespear Nyamande, head of the paperless digitalisation project at Joramco, explained how the MRO is leveraging data, automation and AI to reduce errors, improve turnaround times and strengthen operational decision-making. The session also featured Fraser Currie, chief strategy and commercial officer at Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE).

“Going paperless has delivered efficiencies,” Nyamande said. “The time saved has allowed us to focus on progress.”

As part of its digital journey, Joramco has focused on aligning people, processes and systems to better manage maintenance manhours and operational complexity. “Key initiatives include live manhour booking and reporting by trade, progressive contract settlement for non-routine work, and close collaboration with ERP provider EmpowerMX to develop MRO-specific digital modules,” said Nyamande.

Material and tooling processes have also been integrated directly into maintenance execution, supported by automated replenishment, pre-load management and standardised bills of material for routine tasks.

“Live dashboards provide real-time visibility of turnaround time, work progress and budget performance, while AI-enabled checks during paperwork completion help eliminate missing stamps or signatures,” explained Nyamande.

According to Joramco, the paperless approach is delivering tangible benefits across regulatory compliance, productivity, safety and cost control. Digital work packs enable easier audits and improved maintenance record quality, while remote access to workflows reduces the need for on-site customer representatives and supports faster, data-driven decision-making.

Based in Amman, Jordan, Joramco is a leading independent MRO with more than 60 years of experience, supporting Airbus, Boeing and Embraer fleets for customers across the Middle East, Europe, South Asia, Africa and the CIS.
