A panel discussion at the first PAM MENA conference today in Dubai examined how engine intelligence is playing an increasingly strategic role in fleet performance as carriers across the Middle East, Africa and beyond continue to scale operations.
Moderated by Adil Al Sheibani, director of engineering at SalamAir, the session brought together perspectives from across the engine, leasing and digital solutions ecosystem to explore how predictive technologies are improving on-wing performance, informing smarter shop visit planning and supporting more resilient fleet strategies.
Panellists included Geert Van Damme, vice president of sales and marketing – EMEA & Asia at CTS Engines; Rami Aynati, general manager – EMEA, global lessors & MROs at GE Aerospace; and Sander de Bree, founder and chief executive of EXSYN Aviation Solutions.
The discussion addressed key barriers to adopting engine intelligence, including data quality, system integration and the willingness of stakeholders to share information.
Panellists also debated how mature engine programmes can still benefit from digital tools, agreeing that robust data governance, clear use cases and greater collaboration across the value chain are essential to reducing downtime, protecting asset value and strengthening operational resilience.
