CitizenPlane launches Pulse revenue management following Yieldin acquisition

Airline modern retailing technology developer CitizenPlane is to introduce a new revenue management platform for mid-size and fast-growing airlines.

The system, rebranded as Pulse has been launched following the acquisition of French technology firm Yieldin.

The acquisition brings an additional module to CitizenPlane’s next-gen operating system, along with Zenith PSS and Air Distribution.

Hadrien Musitelli, chief executive and co-founder of CitizenPlane, said: “Bringing this revenue management expertise in-house was essential to support our air retailing vision, particularly around the development of the Offer module of the airline Operating System.

“With Pulse, we can deliver powerful revenue-optimisation capabilities to our clients immediately and also invest heavily in the offer management innovation that will accelerate our longer-term roadmap.”

Pulse is described as an “agnostic” Revenue Management solution developed with an adaptable IT architecture that can operate with any PSS [Passenger Service System], including CitizenPlane’s Zenith and others.

The system connects with airline inventory systems, and can integrate into a wide range of existing airline environments. It is designed to address “the shift of the industry towards smart, contextualized and data-driven revenue tools,” said Citizen Plane.

Airlines will be able to use it to “translate strategic goals into day-to-day revenue actions”.

Users can also adapt pricing to real-time market conditions to optimise yield and enhance offer conversion.

CitizenPlane said the addition of Pulse represents “a significant milestone, underscoring the importance of revenue management for modern offer construction and commercial decision-making for airlines”.

The firm’s modular operating system is an API-first platform built for agile, growth-oriented carriers, capable of supporting both legacy and new modern airline retailing protocols.

Pulse CitizenPlane’s core Zenith PSS and Air, a distribution module that supports traditional distribution and NDC [New Distribution Capability].

The latest acquisition is CitizenPlane’s second in less than two years. Today, CitizenPlane works with more than 80 airlines worldwide

Laurent Lebard, president of Yieldin, said: “CitizenPlane’s vision for a modular, next-gen airline OS aligns perfectly with our belief in smart, transparent revenue management.

“Joining forces allows us to bring our RM expertise to a broader market and build new tools that meet the needs of today’s  and tomorrow’s airlines.”

The Pulse module is available immediately as a standalone product for new and existing CitizenPlane customers, with full integration into the wider system already live.
